How to Use ToonLog

ToonLog captures your Toontown Rewritten game screen and detects chat messages in real time, entirely in your browser.

Chat Capture

1. Start a capture session by clicking "Add Capture" or pressing Ctrl+Shift+N.
2. Select your game window from the browser's screen sharing picker. Choose the "Window" tab and select the Toontown Rewritten window.
3. View captured messages in the instance panel. Messages are detected, classified by type (chat, whisper, etc.), and displayed in real time.
4. Multiple instances are supported. Add another capture session for each game window you want to monitor.

Connect to TTR (Optional)

ToonLog can connect to Toontown Rewritten's built-in Companion App API to show your toon's name, location, and other details alongside your chat log.

1. Enable Companion App Support in the game's settings. Open TTR, go to Options → Gameplay, and toggle on Companion App Support.
   
2. Click "Connect TTR" in the ToonLog toolbar. ToonLog will scan for running game instances on your machine.
3. Accept the connection in-game. A popup will appear asking you to authorize ToonLog. Click OK to allow the connection.
   
4. Link toons to captures using the Toons sidebar. Once connected, the sidebar will open automatically showing your toon(s). Click Link to capture to associate a toon with a capture session.
